SRNS Supply Chain Procurement Launches New Solution to Improve Onboarding Cycle Time
SRNS Supply Chain Procurement recently implemented a Managed Service Provider (MSP) solution across procurement. This initiative aims to reduce onboarding cycle time from 48 to 21 days or less and to integrate financial functions that will aid in business expansion at SRS.
Personnel from SRNS and Knowledge Services implemented the Managed Service Provider solution to support business growth at SRS. “The MSP is a modeled Vendor Managed Solution (VMS) that provides services and assistance to SRNS with the identification, screening, assignment, measure, appraisal, and financial processing of staff augmentation subcontract labor,” said Kyle Hayes, SRNS Procurement Manager. “This third-party organization specializes in handling the management of contingent or temporary labor resources on behalf of SRNS.”
The multifunctional MSP model integrates financial functions, increases subcontractor reach, and incorporates business service applications to align with SRNS databases.
“This is a game changer application that is improving how we procure augment labor when working with a proven provider,” said Dave Dietz, Supply Chain Procurement, Senior Director. “Since 2022, our cross-functional team has analyzed best practices from across the Department of Energy complex to roll out this multi-phase initiative.”
Guidesoft, Inc. DBA Knowledge Services was selected by SRNS Supply Chain Procurement due to their expertise in tailoring solutions to meet SRNS government requirements.
“Knowledge Services has established itself as a prominent MSP and VMS provider, serving over 156 clients, including 18 state government programs,” said Hayes. “This is a great opportunity to use a modern and automated model that creates accurate, consistent and verifiable metrics for the benefit of all SRNS customers.”
According to Lance Waddell, Senior Vice President of Business Services, the MSP solution also provides a faster turn-around on technical evaluation by pre-screening candidates.
“Managed services are a strategic choice for organizations seeking long-term stability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability without the overhead of managing those functions internally,” said Waddell. “This strategic partnership aims to reduce our onboarding time by nearly 60% and enhance overall operational efficiency.”
In addition, the newly implemented Vendor Management System (VMS) will provide suppliers with real-time visibility into orders, invoices and performance metrics.
“The VMS tool is designed to help streamline our staff augmentation procurement process in order to further support our goal of a 21-day cycle time for onboarding new staff augmentation service providers,” continued Hayes. “Current metrics show requisitions processed through the VMS tool in 20 days, which is a huge win for SRNS.”
“We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with SRNS to provide MSP services and align our goals and objectives,” said Bill Evans, Knowledge Services Senior Vice President. “In our 30-year history, SRNS stakeholders are by far the most engaged and committed. We look forward to this collaboration that will create a streamlined and innovative contingent labor process for SRNS.”
